Letter to London local newspapers
Dear Sir/Madam,
Every summer a number of Conservative Party volunteers carry out social action projects in poorer countries. Project Umubano, originally started in Rwanda, has taken root in other countries such as Sierra Leone. Volunteers engage in a number of activities such as providing healthcare, teaching good governance and providing entrepreneurial support.
Over the past few years, Umubano has run sports projects in Rwanda, in particular football and cricket. The projects, which teach young people how to play and develop teamwork skills, have proven incredibly successful. We are now also working to build a cricket stadium in Rwanda.
Naturally, the one thing we really lack is cricket equipment. Therefore, if there are any Londoners out there who have some old bats, balls, pads, kits or anything else that may help the project and could be donated, I would love to hear from you at syed@syedkamall.com
Yours sincerely,
Syed Kamall MEP
