Letter to London local newspapers
London is rapidly becoming a global centre for technology companies, with hundreds already located around 'Silicon Roundabout' at Old Street and elsewhere in the capital. We have here a business-friendly culture, which has brought tech start ups together into a cluster in this part of our city.
The EU has recently published a new strategy on cloud computing, where data is stored remotely and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. So often we see Europe attempting to regulate new industries and technologies. I am encouraged that on cloud computing at least, they are acting in an enabling capacity rather than a dictatorial one.
